By accessing our Website, or registering an account and placing an Order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree, you may not use our Website or place an Order.
These Terms are concluded electronically in terms of ECTA and constitute a binding agreement between you and Juel Collective (Pty) Ltd.
You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding contracts under South African law.
We sell horse products online. Displayed stock quantities reflect what we hold at the time of your visit; because stock can be reserved or purchased by other customers between browsing and checkout, availability is only guaranteed once your Order is confirmed.
Orders are placed through our online checkout, which requires a registered account. By submitting an Order, you make an offer to purchase subject to these Terms.
An Order is accepted and a binding contract formed only upon our confirmation via email to the address you provided at checkout. We reserve the right to decline any Order, including where stock is unavailable or where we suspect fraudulent activity.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of all information provided at checkout, including your shipping and billing address, contact details, and chosen delivery method. We accept no liability for errors arising from incorrect Customer-supplied information.
All prices displayed on our Website are in South African Rand (ZAR). Juel Equestrian is not a VAT-registered vendor, so no VAT is charged on any price shown. Prices are subject to change without notice; however, the price applicable to your Order is the price shown at the time you confirm your Order.
We do not use a card payment gateway. Payment is made by electronic funds transfer (EFT) directly into our bank account, using the details shown at the Payment step of checkout and on your order confirmation screen. Please use your order number as the payment reference.
Your Order is prepared for pickup or dispatch once we have manually confirmed receipt of your EFT payment. If we do not receive payment within a reasonable time of your Order being placed, we may cancel the Order and release the reserved stock.
A transaction record is provided on the order confirmation screen and retained in your account's order history in terms of ECTA Section 43(5).
You may choose to collect your Order, at no additional cost, from our premises at 13 The Prongs, Plettenberg Bay. You can check when your Order is ready for collection at any time via My Orders or our order tracking page.
If you choose courier delivery, we do not use an automated courier booking or live-tracking integration. Instead, we will contact you directly (by phone or email) after payment is confirmed to arrange the courier, delivery timing, and any applicable cost. You can check your Order's current status at any time via our order tracking page.
Risk of loss or damage to Products passes to you upon collection (for Pickup) or upon handover to the courier (for Manual Courier Delivery). Ownership of the Products passes to you upon receipt of full payment.
We will make every reasonable effort to arrange delivery within the timeframe communicated to you, but cannot guarantee delivery dates where circumstances outside our reasonable control cause delays, including courier delays, adverse weather, or public holidays.
You may cancel your Order without penalty at any time before we have marked it as being processed. You can do this yourself from your account (if you registered one) or by contacting us with your order number. If you already paid by EFT, a full refund will be processed within 3 Business Days to the bank account the payment came from.
Once your Order has begun being prepared for pickup or dispatch, please contact us directly — we will do our best to accommodate a cancellation or exchange, but cannot guarantee it once packaging or courier arrangements are underway.
Where a Product is unopened, unused, and in its original packaging, you may request a return within 3 Business Days of collection or delivery. Return shipping (or drop-off at our premises) is at your cost unless the return is due to our error or a defective item.
If your Order arrives damaged, faulty, or materially incorrect, please notify us as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours of collection or delivery, with photographs where relevant — this helps us resolve it quickly. We will, at our election, repair, replace, or refund the affected items, in compliance with our obligations under CPA Section 56.
Approved refunds are processed within 3 Business Days via EFT to the bank account the original payment came from. We do not process cash refunds.
We guarantee that Products will be:
These guarantees are in addition to your statutory rights under the CPA Section 56 implied warranty, which cannot be excluded or limited.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Juel Equestrian collects, why, and what rights you have over it. Juel Equestrian processes personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
We do not collect or store any card payment details — payment is by EFT directly into our bank account, arranged entirely outside the Website.
We process personal information to:
We share personal information only as necessary with the following third-party service providers who process data on our behalf:
We do not sell your personal information to any third party, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
If you choose courier delivery, we do not use an automated courier booking system or API — there is no standing data-sharing arrangement with any courier company. Instead, once your order is ready, we manually pass on the details a courier needs to complete that specific delivery (your name, delivery address, and phone number) to whichever courier we arrange it with. This is done case-by-case, by our staff, by phone or email — see Clause 7.2.
We retain Order and customer records for a minimum of 5 years to satisfy SARS tax record-keeping requirements, after which data is securely deleted.
You have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer via our website. We will respond within 30 days.
We rely on Google Firebase's infrastructure for authentication, database access control, and file storage, all governed by server-side security rules that restrict access to your own data (or, for order fulfilment, to our admin staff). We never store card or bank login details — payment is a manual EFT you make yourself, using bank details we display to you.
Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, which may process and store data outside South Africa. Google Firebase maintains standard contractual safeguards for cross-border data transfer, consistent with POPIA Section 72.
Our Website is not directed at children, and account registration requires you to confirm you are at least 18 years old (see Clause 3). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Our Website may link to third-party sites (for example, a courier's own site once a delivery is arranged). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site we don't operate — check their own policy before sharing information with them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, in the same manner as the rest of these Terms & Conditions — see Clause 16 (Amendments).
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar browser storage we use, why, and how you can control them.
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We also use similar browser storage technologies — localStorage — which work like cookies but stay on your device rather than being sent with every request. Where this policy says "cookies," it covers both, unless stated otherwise.
On your first visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary storage (see 11.3 below) is always active, since the Website cannot function without it — it is not covered by the banner. Your choice is remembered on this device (in localStorage, under the key jueleq_cookie_consent) so you are not asked again; you can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
| Name / key | Purpose | Type | Duration |
| Firebase Authentication session (localStorage/IndexedDB — not a cookie) | Keeps you signed in so you can check out and view your orders | Strictly necessary | Session, or 30 days with "Remember me" |
bh_loggedIn, session-activity timestamp (localStorage) | Detects an idle session and signs you out after 60 minutes, for account security | Strictly necessary | Until logout / expiry |
| Shopping cart (localStorage) | Remembers items in your cart between pages and visits | Strictly necessary | Persistent (until cleared) |
jueleq_cookie_consent (localStorage) | Remembers your cookie-consent choice itself | Strictly necessary | Persistent (until cleared) |
Firebase Analytics — the only actual cookie on this site (Google Analytics for Firebase, measurement ID G-DHS6B2WE77) | Aggregate, anonymised statistics on how visitors use the storefront (pages viewed, general engagement) — helps us understand what's working | Optional — analytics | Up to 14 months (Google default) |
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run Google Ads/Tag Manager, Meta/Facebook Pixel, or any other marketing pixel on this Website.
You can accept or reject optional cookies via the consent banner or the footer's "Cookie preferences" link at any time. You can also clear cookies and site data from your browser's own settings, though doing so will sign you out and clear your cart. Rejecting optional cookies does not affect your ability to browse, register, or check out — analytics is the only category we treat as optional, and it is never required to use the Website.
All content on this Website — including text, images, logos, product photographs, and software — is the property of Juel Collective (Pty) Ltd or is used under licence, and is protected by South African and international copyright law.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on this Website without our prior written consent.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable South African law:
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the CPA or any other applicable law.
We are committed to resolving disputes quickly and fairly. If you have a complaint:
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You consent to the jurisdiction of the Western Cape Division of the High Court of South Africa (or a Magistrate's Court of competent jurisdiction) for resolution of any dispute arising from these Terms.
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version published on our Website at the date of your Order is the version that applies to that Order. We will notify registered customers of material changes via email. Continued use of the Website after such notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
